Buffalo Bill's Wild West Prayer Trip

William F. Cody's (alias Buffalo Bill) mother and father were buried at Pilot Knob Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas. I went to the hill that is Pilot Knob. Going from some maps that showed where the old cemetery had been, I went and did a prayer ceremony there. The markers for the graves of the Cody parents were rotted or stolen or otherwise lost long, long ago; and then more recently the cemetery was moved. Therefore the graves of Buffalo Bill parents appear to be lost. There is no marker or tourist center in this area.

Whether because of the spite of enemies, the carelessness of those in authority, or of war's unevitable havoc, their graves today are unknown, unhonored, and unmarked."
